Eraserheads - FruitCake

 
 Fruitcake is the fourth commercial album and the only concept album of the Eraserheads, released in 1996 by Sony BMG Music Philippines Inc. (Formerly BMG Records Pilipinas, Inc.). It is also the official Christmas album and accompanied by a separate storybook, also called Fruitcake, and can be categorized as a musical itself, although, to date, no stage plays have been made based on it.

The release of Fruitcake is preceded by the release of a limited cassette EP version (which was later released as CD), also called Fruitcake. The cassette/cd single version contains three songs, including a different version of the song Fruitcake and another song called Christmas Alphabet which is not found in the official Fruitcake album. Jose Mari Chan - Christmas In Our Hearts

José Mari Chan is a popular Filipino singer/songwriter and businessman. He composed his first song, Afterglow, in 1964, and has since written hundreds of songs. He graduated with a degree in economics from Ateneo de Manila University in 1967.

He composed "We’re All Just One", the theme song of the 2005 Southeast Asian Games.

Among admirers (especially non-Filipinos) he is known as the "Filipino Jimmy Webb" in honor of the intricate English-language lyrics which set his songs apart from others. Much of his early music remains popular worldwide, and some of his songs have rebounded as hits for other artists, such as Lea Salonga (Tony Award-winning actress, Filipino Music Award winning singer and internationally recognized actress for her portrayal of Kim, the lead role in the musical Miss Saigon and as Eponine in Les Misérables). His music is often heard over online music channels, such as United States-based PhilRadio International. Rico J. Puno - Spirit Of Christmas

Enrico de Jesus Puno (born on February 13, 1953), better known as Rico J. Puno, is a popular Filipino pop singing artist who is credited as a pioneer-promoter of original Filipino music. He started the trend of incorporating Tagalog lyrics in his rendition of the American song The Way We Were and other foreign songs. Also known as Rico J. and as The Total Entertainer, Puno is a singer who regularly infused his on-stage performance with comedy and jokes.

Puno introduced himself and his talent to the entertainment business by performing at folk houses and small clubs in Metro Manila. In 1975, while singing at the Palazzi, Puno met and performed with the American Motown group, The Temptations. Puno’s talent was later noticed by the executive producers from Vicor Records. His first record was Love Won't Let Me Wait, while his first big hit was the Tagalog-infused The Way We Were.

In 1976, Puno won the Aliw Award for Most Promising Entertainer. Two years later, he became Aliw's Entertainer of the Year. His Rico in Concert show at the Cultural Center of the Philippines launched him as one of the foremost Philippine pop stars. In 1978, Puno’s popularity and his regular concerts at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City and his performance tours in the United States broke records in terms of audience attendance. His fame also made him into a sought-after product endorser including advertisements for San Miguel Beer Corporation in the 1970s. [source: wikipedia]

Mabuhay Singers - Pasko Sa Pilipinas (Heritage Series)

Formed by the Villar Recording Company in 1958, the group was a combination of two leading vocal trios at that time --- the Tres Rosas, composed of Carmen Camacho, Nora Hermosa, and Raye Lucero; and the Lovers Trio, composed of Chi Lucerio, Floro San Juan, and Ador Torres. Singers like Ruben Tagalog, Cely Bautista, Ric Manrique Jr., Rita Rivera, Don David, Flor Ocampo, Noel Samonte, Betty Rivera, Robert Malaga, and Everlita Rivera became part of the group at one time or another. With Leopoldo Silos as musical director from 1958 to 1978, the group recorded no less than 100 long-playing albums, some released internationally. They sang traditional and modern Filipino songs in major Philippine languages and songs in English and Spanish. For their top-selling recordings, the Philippine Records Association awarded the group a citation in 1973.
